[REPORT] Report on traceability of deforestation-free cocoa production

Acopagro's traceability pilot project was created within the framework of the Cocoa, Forests and Diversity Agreement .

The pilot is agreed between the Tropical Forest Alliance and the Coalition for Sustainable Production. However, ACOPAGRO welcomed Proforest's suggestion
to broaden the frame of reference on which to define compliance criteria, which involved global benchmarking of sourcing requirements in leading companies in the market and other similar multi-stakeholder initiatives with CBD.

ACOPAGRO is a Peruvian organization of small cocoa producers, with close to 2,000 members located in four provinces of the San Martin region. Over time, ACOPAGRO has implemented different methods of harvesting and processing cocoa.
data storage, obtaining information from associates at different levels and in a decentralized manner, requiring support to consolidate, analyze and manage their own information.

In its initial stage, the traceability pilot seeks to obtain a diagnosis of ACOPAGRO as an association, understanding the functioning of its supply chain, its policies, commitments, gaps, clients and future plans for market expansion.
