Roadmap: Towards the consolidation of a Coalition for Sustainable Production

This Roadmap guides the work of the Sustainable Production Coalition. As such, it establishes the mission, vision and strategic objectives, as well as the working approaches and principles, the latter being the guide for dialogue and debate, and should be taken into consideration at all times. The document also defines the governance of this valuable space and is based on the recognition of the work done by the signatory organizations within the framework of the Tarapoto Declaration, as well as the participatory process initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, which has made it possible to incorporate the views of various stakeholders.

The Peruvian government has announced greater ambition to address climate change by 2030. While Peru committed to reduce its Greenhouse Gas emissions by 30% by 2030. In the framework of the Paris Agreement, during the COP 25 in Madrid, the Ministry of Environment announced that the GHG emissions reduction target will be 35% by 2030, with the support of the private sector. In this line, the intervention of the Coalition for Sustainable Production, as a multi-stakeholder space, is key as it seeks to be a space for dialogue, an information platform that connects global and local developments, and to support and make visible initiatives that promote deforestation-free value chains.
